Leslie Koyama
Leslie is a Developmental Biology graduate student in the O’Brien lab. She graduated from Barnard College in 2009 with a B.A. in Biological Sciences where she studied bacterial biofilm development and patterning. She joined the lab in June 2014. At Stanford she was awarded an NIH F31 diversity fellowship. Leslie has developed a novel technique called Bellymount for non invasively imaging abdominal organs in adult Drosophila. She is excited to use this technique to observe previously hidden dynamics of the adult fruit fly gastrointestinal tract.
